Nashville, Tenn. – The Roe Family Singers are back with their brand new single, “Loretta Lynn Blues”. The song serves as the latest release from the forthcoming Bonfire Music Group project, Sisters And Brothers, set for release in 2024. It spotlights founding members Quillan and Kim Roe throughout. The recording is available now on all digital and streaming platforms HERE.
“Inspired by her hits like ‘One’s On the Way,’ ‘The Pill,’ ‘Rated X,’ and ‘Don’t Come Home a Drinkin’ (With Lovin’ On Your Mind),’ that deal with issues that women face everyday but are seldom acknowledged, we wanted to write a song in the same vein, updated for the ‘Me Too’ era, explains Quillan Roe. “’Loretta Lynn Blues’ features guest-drummer Noah Levy (the Honeydogs, Five For Fighting, the Brain Setzer Orchestra, Peter Frampton, Soul Asylum), and guest-fiddler & vocalist Annie Savage (IBMA Mentor of the Year, IBMA Leadership Bluegrass Planning Committee).”
“Loretta Lynn Blues” is an original tune that was written by founding member Quillan Roe. Its empowering lyrics are perfectly captured by Kim Roe, who sings lead. It follows their previous Grassicana hit, “Don’t Worry About the Rich Man,” from the previous project Roll Up The Rug. The video for the single was recently filmed at the well-known 311 Club located in Minneapolis, Minnesota and is set for release at a later date.
The full Sisters And Brothers project includes 12 new recordings. Some titles that standout include the experimental song “Road To Hell,” which delivers the message that ultimately we all end up in the same place. The album closes with the tune “Bedtime In Boogie Town.” The collection includes members and special guests Kim Roe (lead vocals, percussion), Quillan Roe (lead vocals, banjo, archtop guitar), Erik Brandt (accordion), Dave Gustafson (mandolin), Dan Gaarder (flat-top guitars, vocals), Joe Hayes (Appalachian clogging), Eric Paulson (doghouse bass), Rich Rue (resonator guitars), Adam Wirtzfeld (musical saw), Steve Kaul (banjo sticks), Noah Levy (drums), David F. Robinson (second flap-top guitar), Annie Savage (fiddle). Stay tuned as more details are revealed!
