Band Celebrates Album Release By Announcing Next Radio Single “Little Trouble”
Nashville, Tenn. – The Roe Family Singers are excited for the release of their brand new project, Sisters And Brothers. It marks the Minnesota based band’s seventh studio album. With 12 new recordings, the collection was heavily inspired during the pandemic, while also serving as a love letter to The Pogues by mirroring their experiments with melding Irish and American music together. Music enthusiasts can download and/or stream the full album HERE.
To coincide with the Sisters And Brothers release, the Bluegrass tune “Little Trouble” will serve as the latest single to radio. Written by Quillan Roe, the track features lead vocals from Kim Roe. The whimsical tune was created with the idea of channeling the newer Folk sound, by borrowing melodies and lyrics from earlier songs and repurposing them to correspond with the current times. The result is a must-hear Bluegrass anthem that is similar in the vein of “Little Birdy,” while tackling modern concerns which have captivated the world over the last few years.
What else can fans expect to hear on the full album? With an impressive 12 total tracks, the tunes stay true to the Roe Family Singers signature sound, which incorporates an old time element that combines Bluegrass, Folk, Roots and Americana all into one. No matter each listener’s preferred style, there’s something for every type of music lover on Sisters And Brothers. Standouts include thought-provoking tracks like the previous single “Loretta Lynn Blues,” “On the TV Today” and “World Without A Gun,” which both touch on issues going on in the world. There is also a fun side to the collection with tracks like the raucous swing song “Bedtime in Boogie Town” and “What Are you Waiting For?”
Recorded at Wild Sound by Steve Kaul, Sisters and Brothers features some new additions to the Roe Family Singers sound. Joining the band on the project are Noah Levy on drums (Brian Setzer, Soul Asylum, Five For Fighting, Golden Smog, BoDeans, Peter Frampton, The Honeydogs), Annie Savage on fiddle (Savage Hearts, 2020 IBMA “Mentor of the Year”) and David Robinson on rhythm guitar (Monroe Crossing, the High 48s, Steam Machine).
The band recently celebrated the album release last night by delivering a captivating performance in Minneapolis, MN at The Parkway Theater. During the event, concertgoers were able to hear new music for the very first time live.
