Nashville, Tenn. – Critically-acclaimed band The Barefoot Movement are charging forward with a new Outlander tribute medley, which is out today via Bonfire Music Group. It’s part of their Covers For A Cause, which was created to benefit the non-profit Soles4Souls. The objective is to help deliver clothing and shoes to underprivileged people throughout the United States and worldwide. All proceeds for this new recording will go towards that effort. Check out the song on your favorite digital retailer and/or streaming service HERE.
With the new Outlander Medley, the band showcases their must-hear harmony vocals on the laid-back track by highlighting “The Skye Boat Song,” which is the opening credit song for each episode. With the recent completion of the show’s sixth season, it’s still going strong. The cut incorporates elements of Americana, Bluegrass and Roots all into one. The recording features Barefoot Movement members Noah Wall, Tommy Norris and Katie Blomarz, who all come together to elevate the song to new heights.
This is the third installment from Covers For A Cause. As part of the fundraiser, a new single will be released every four weeks. The previous releases were their version of the Beatles’ “Here Comes The Sun” and a special recording of Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Lodi.” In addition to proceeds from the single going to the charity, fans can also make direct donations to Soles4Souls, and learn more about the mission HERE.
“We were on the road when I spotted a donation box for Soles4Souls. Being in a ‘barefoot’ band, my eye is always drawn to footprint graphics, so I was instantly intrigued,” explains Barefoot Movement co-founder Noah Wall on how the relationship first started. “I looked up the organization and I was blown away, reading about all the incredible work they do. I couldn’t help but draw a connection to our band name and the Soles4Souls objective.”
