Nashville, Tenn. – Emerging Americana and roots artist Daron Tate makes a striking first impression in the Bluegrass world with the release of his debut Bluegrass single, “Feelin’ Good Again.” Originally written by legendary Texas songwriter Robert Earl Keen, Tate breathes new life into the beloved classic with a fresh Bluegrass arrangement that feels both deeply nostalgic and undeniably invigorating. The full recording is available on all digital and streaming platforms via Bonfire Music Group HERE.
“I love this song for its imagery and the way it captures feelings of fulfillment upon returning home to friends and familiar music. Robert Earl Keen has remained one of my favorite songwriters and performers of all time,” says Tate. “I also have a tremendous amount of respect for what he has done for other artists in Americana music, including through his Americana Podcast, where he features artists and explores the genre’s roots and definition.”
Produced by acclaimed Bluegrass and roots hitmaker Danny Burns, “Feelin’ Good Again” transforms Keen’s timeless anthem into a spirited, roots-driven recording anchored by stellar musicianship and Tate’s lived-in vocal delivery. The song reflects on homecoming, connection, and the comfort found in familiar places and people, which are themes that resonate deeply throughout Tate’s artistry. The release serves as the lead single from a forthcoming project currently in the works, with more new music expected soon. Instrumental credits include Daron Tate (vocals, guitar), Liam Purcell (mandolin, banjo, guitar), Billy Contreras (fiddle) and Ethan Burkhardt (bass). The single was recorded at Nashville’s Station West, and engineered and mixed by Austin Stanley.
Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and shaped by years spent between Oklahoma and Washington, DC, Daron Tate draws from a remarkably wide range of influences that give his music a distinctive voice. Raised within a tribal community, his songwriting is rooted in themes of land, family and tradition, while beat-poet influences, and Red Dirt country music lend an unmistakable edge to his sound. Tate witnessed the earliest performances of acts like Medicine Show, Red Dirt Rangers, Cross Canadian Ragweed and Jason Boland in Stillwater, Oklahoma, experiences that helped shape his musical identity alongside influences such as Bob Dylan, Townes Van Zandt, Waylon Jennings, and more. A southern-style powwow singer as well, Tate has performed with groups including the Zotigh Singers and East Coast Singers, further deepening the cultural and musical roots woven throughout his songwriting. His sound ultimately lives at the crossroads of Americana, Red Dirt, country, folk, and bluegrass by blending lyric-forward songwriting with the raw honesty of lived experience.
