Daniel Grindstaff & The Uptown Troubadours Ride Breakout Year with Grand Ole Opry Debut, IBMA New Artist of the Year Nomination

Acclaimed Bluegrass Quartet Continues Momentum as “Denver” Climbs Into Top 10 and Country Music Hall of Fame Performance Awaits This Weekend

Nashville, Tenn. – Momentum continues to build for Daniel Grindstaff & The Uptown Troubadours following an unforgettable official Grand Ole Opry debut, a newly announced International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) New Artist of the Year nomination, and the continued success of the band’s acclaimed self-titled album. Grindstaff is also set to take the stage this Sunday for a special Musician Spotlight performance at the Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum in Nashville.

The band’s remarkable year reached another milestone when they stepped into the legendary Grand Ole Opry circle for the very first time under their own name last week. The unforgettable appearance included a surprise collaboration with Larry Gatlin & The Gatlin Brothers, who joined the band on stage to perform their current single, “Denver.” They followed with their Bluegrass rendition of “Danny’s Song,” before closing the night with “Foggy Mountain Breakdown,” the same tune Daniel’s father performed during his own Grand Ole Opry debut 56 years earlier.

“Our Grand Ole Opry debut was one of the greatest honors of my life,” says Grindstaff. “We opened our set with our current single, ‘Denver,’ and to our surprise, Larry and the Gatlin Brothers stepped onto the Opry stage and sang it with us. Having Larry Gatlin perform the song he wrote alongside us during our Opry debut is a moment all of us will cherish forever. Then, to close the night with ‘Foggy Mountain Breakdown’ while my dad watched from side stage, 56 years after his own Opry debut, made it a true full-circle moment I’ll carry with me forever.”

Released earlier this year on Bonfire Music Group, the Daniel Grindstaff & The Uptown Troubadours album has become one of Bluegrass music’s biggest success stories of 2026. The album has already produced three No. 1 Bluegrass radio hits with “Angel Dream,” “The Death of John Henry” featuring Marty Stuart, and “We See Love,” while earning praise from fans, critics, and radio alike. Adding to the excitement, the group’s current single, “Denver,” has climbed into the Top 10 of the Bluegrass Today Weekly Airplay Chart, currently sitting at No. 7. Featuring a blend of inspired originals and fresh Bluegrass interpretations of beloved classics, the project showcases the exceptional musicianship of Daniel Grindstaff, Kevin Richardson, Derek Deakins, and Kent Blanton, while featuring songs from acclaimed writers including Rick Lang, Jim Grubbs, Tim Stafford, Larry Sparks and more.

The momentum shows no signs of slowing down. Just last week, the International Bluegrass Music Association recognized the band’s breakout success with a nomination for New Artist of the Year, further cementing Daniel Grindstaff & The Uptown Troubadours as one of the genre’s fastest-rising acts. Combined with their chart-topping radio success, growing national media attention and standout live performances, the nomination marks yet another milestone in what has already become a career-defining year.

Fans can catch Daniel Grindstaff this Sunday at the Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum’s Musician Spotlight program in Nashville, where he will be joined by fellow Uptown Troubadours Kevin Richardson and Kent Blanton.
