Daniel Grindstaff Teams With Paul Brewster and Dolly Parton for Bluegrass Version of Rod Stewart’s “Forever Young”

Nashville, Tenn. – World-class banjo extraordinaire Daniel Grindstaff just released his brand new single, “Forever Young.” The recording features lead vocals from American Music mainstay Paul Brewster and Country superstar Dolly Parton, who both sing with Grindstaff. It’s a version of the well-known Rod Stewart hit, but with a must-hear Bluegrass twist. Download and/or stream the full “Forever Young” track HERE.

“The timeless lyrics contained in ‘Forever Young’ have always touched my heart. I often think about how quickly time passes as our children grow into adults and yet for us as parents, they remain ‘Forever Young.’ Producing this song was an honor,” says Daniel Grindstaff. “A wonderful cast of heroes and friends joined me in the studio along with special guest vocalists, the great Paul Brewster and the legendary Dolly Parton. Their vocals are nothing short of magical, and an absolute dream come true for me, one I’ll never forget.”

Over the years, the song has been covered by an array of different artists, but never like this. The anthemic track pays homage to the original, but takes it to a new level with the heartfelt vocals of Brewster and Parton. Additionally, Grindstaff stepped into the producer’s chair as well, which helped the recording take shape and catch the interest of both special guests. The style features a contemporary Bluegrass sound, but with a traditional element. It made its premiere on SiriusXM’s Bluegrass Junction where it was played earlier today for the very first time. Stewart’s “Forever Young” dates back to 1988 when it was released as part of the multi-platinum album Out Of Order.

The new single serves as the latest from Grindstaff’s upcoming project Heroes & Friends. Set for release at a later date, the collection will see the East Tennessee native bring together some of his biggest musical inspirations over the years. It will also pay tribute to his largest banjo influences like Earl Scruggs, J.D. Crowe and Sonny Osborne. “Forever Young” is the follow-up to the original lead single “Three Arrows.” The song has seen great success, spending multiple weeks on the Bluegrass Today Weekly Airplay Chart.
