Nashville, Tenn. – Critically-acclaimed musician Daniel Grindstaff has a brand new single out today called “Three Arrows.” The instrumental tune’s title introduces an impactful message, standing as the universal bond between parents and their children who have Down Syndrome. It’s the lead single from his upcoming Heroes & Friends project, coming from Bonfire Music Group at a later date. Fans can download and/or stream “Three Arrows” HERE.
“I wrote this song for my boys, Owen and Finn and it happens to be the first instrumental I’ve written that I have recorded. The talented friends who joined me in the studio are Trey Hensley, Andy Leftwich, Stephen Burwell, and Kent Blanton – as great players can do; these guys captured my vision for this tune perfectly,” says Daniel Grindstaff. “Making the song even more special, Three Arrows is the down syndrome support symbol, and a portion of the proceeds will go to the FRIENDS Down Syndrome support group in East Tennessee, a non-profit organization very close to my heart. Music can lift spirits and bring a smile; I hope that’s what this tune does while also embracing this wonderful organization.”
The new release is an upbeat recording that is sure to fit onto any contemporary Bluegrass playlist. It also pays tribute to the Tennessee native’s largest influences including Earl Scruggs, J.D. Crowe and Sonny Osborne. It comes on what is the instrumentalist’s 40th birthday (on April 4). As the year progresses, Daniel Grindstaff has several major surprises in-store. In addition to spending a lot of time in the studio finishing up the Heroes & Friends project, there’s also some very special guests who will be joining the artist lineup on vocals. Stay tuned as more details are revealed in the upcoming weeks ahead.
“I’ve known Daniel for many years, he’s been a great picker from the first time I met him! This project I believe is a testament to that,” says Rob McCoury (Del McCoury Band / The Travelin’ McCourys). “He and I are both very heavily influenced by Earl Scruggs, J.D. Crowe and Sonny Osborne. You can hear those inflections in this great recording! But, make no mistake, this is pure Daniel Grindstaff! Nice work Pal!”
